The Enchanted Frog and his Maiden

'Open the door, my princess dear, Open the door to thy true love here! And mind the words that thou and I said By the fountain cool, in the greenwood shade.' And when the princess opened the door the frog came in, and slept upon her pillow as before, till the morning broke. And the third night he did the same. But when the princess awoke on the following morning she was astonished to see, instead of the frog, a handsome prince, gazing on her with the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen and standing at the head of her bed. Tulip…

A famous legend from Turkish lore tells of a handsome prince named Farhad who was stricken with love for the fair maid, Shirin. One day he heard that she had been killed, and in his grief, mounted his favorite horse and galloped over a cliff to his death. It is said that from each droplet of his blood, a scarlet tulip sprang up, making the flower an historic symbol of perfect love. Photography by Anastasia Traina ~ 1015 ~

Pythoness Parthena Parker!!

Twas the night before Halloween and Pythoness Parthena Parker was weaving her web for the Queen.... Whil Harry Le Lapin de Clapier waited, however, what was unforeseen was that the Pythoness couldn't for the life of her achieve the that elusive hue of asparagus bean green! Both had quite legitimate fears that come tomorrow morn, the Queen would shout, "OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!"

Twas, the night before Halloween and Pythoness Parthena Parker was working hard weaving her web for the Queen….
While, Harry Le Lapin de Clapier waited and looked on, however, what was unfortunate and quite unforeseen,
was that the Pythoness couldn’t for the life of her achieve that elusive hue of asparagus bean green!
Both had legitimate fears that come tomorrow morn, the Queen would shout, “OFF WITH THEIR FLIGHTYFEATHERNBRAINED GOURDS!”

And so, on that foggy and frosty Hallow’s eve, somewhere deep in the forest, they both drank a lot, and I do mean A LOT of caffeine. Watercolor & Quip by Anastasia Traina ~ 2012~
